Service Description
Participants will start with an existing lighting plot and learn how to organise object information related to Spotlight fixtures, which can eventually be used for integration with Lightwright and export to lighting consoles for patch information. In this course, Lightwright 6 and the grandMA 2 OnPC lighting console will be used for demonstration. Export solutions for ETC EOS family lighting consoles will be touched on briefly. By the end of this course, participants will be expected to achieve the following tasks: I. Preparing an existing Vectorworks document for .xml file export to Lightwright. II. Setting up Lightwright to properly receive data from Vectorworks. III. Setting up the MA plugin in Vectorworks. IV. Preparing an existing Vectorworks document for .xml file export to MA Lighting MA2 console. V. Setting up the MA console to properly receive data from Vectorworks. This course is for users who are proficient in Vectorworks Spotlight, and are looking to expand their skills beyond drafting presentations. These are power users who want to use Vectorworks at the core centre of the design, integrating it with paperwork generation and lighting consoles while maintaining a streamline work flow. Specific to the arts and entertainment industry, practitioners who are involved in lighting design, lighting console programming, as well as technical management, may find the use of Vectorworks Spotlight Integration beneficial to their individual practice. 1. The Vectorworks Spotlight Integration Course will be conducted for a duration of 2 hours, with a 10 minute break halfway through the session. 2. It will be conducted primarily in a presentation format, but there will be opportunities for participants to ask questions. Participants are highly encouraged to follow along with the drafting exercises presented in the course.
